Behind the Song: SIKE WARD

SIKE WARD was written for the battles no one sees. The ones that don’t scream out loud, but live quietly in your chest and your thoughts. It’s about OCD, intrusive thoughts, and fighting wars that exist almost entirely in the mind, where fear feels real even when nothing is happening around you.

I spelled it SIKE, not psych, because that’s what living in your head feels like sometimes. Your mind plays tricks on you. It convinces you that danger is everywhere, that something terrible is about to happen, even when it never does. Most of the things we fear are imagined but the anxiety they create is painfully real.

SIKE WARD is for anyone who has ever felt trapped inside their own thoughts, exhausted from fighting something invisible, wishing they could explain why they’re struggling when there are no visible scars. This song is my reminder and maybe yours that just because the battle isn’t seen, doesn’t mean it isn’t real. And just because your mind lies to you, doesn’t mean you have to believe it.
